We have a CONFIRMED report that a land-based protestor from the 'Peninsula
Citizens for the Protection of Whales' has just been struck by a U.S. Coast
Guard vehicle near Sekiu, Washington.

We do NOT have further details. It should be stressed that it is NOT known
whether the incident was accidental or not. The Clallam County Sheriff
Department has been notified and is currently investigating. An ambulance
responded, and it has been determined that the protestor was not seriously
injured.

PLEASE DO NOT take any action via telephone at this time. Allow the proper
authorities to do their job in determining the details, and we will notify
this list as soon as possible.
